My Guide to Computer Users...
1. Those who shouldn't own them.
2. The Computer User.
3. The Power Monger.
4. The Gadgeteer.
5. The TRUE GEEK
Those who shouldn't own computer...
If... Don't know how to go to an address on the web.
Have no clue how to put icons on your desktop.
Have no idea how to do a download.
Not smarter than a rock.
YOU need to pick up your computer and give it to someone who needs it.
Here are some suggestions...The poor kid next door, The library or Goodwill.
The Computer User...
As a computer tech I have no problem answering your questions because you are trying to learn. As soon as you stop trying you revert back to cat 1. The computer user makes up about 70% of the computer population.
The Power Monger...
I love to hate these people. They are worse than cat 1 people because they think they become True GEEKs by buying their way in and not having a clue what they are doing. I love them because they dump loads of cash. If you feel offended by this then you may actually be a standard computer user or Gadgeteer. A Power Monger won't realize he is in this category. Red from the 70's show would say it best. "Dumbass" Moving on....
The Gadgeteer...
The gadgeteer is one of the best guys to know because he is always playing with new tech and loves to share his experience. If you live for the next new toy and can't wait push it to the max you are more than likely a Gadgeteer.
The TRUE GEEK...
The true geek exists on several playing fields. If you have passion for wanting to know the most about one thing or need to moddify it to do what you want then you are a geek. I love building towards a goal. I want find the best computer parts for a task and jam them into a custom box to meet a specific need. You could almost call it an art.
I may need to revise this list and add Leaches but they may also fall under Power Mongers...Hmmmm look for future listings of sub catagories of users. This could be interesting....
